IIT Bombay AI Cybersecurity Hub has been established through a partnership with SBI Life Insurance to strengthen artificial intelligence and cybersecurity research in India, which is planned to establish the Bharat AI & Cyber Innovation Hub for Insurance, a research centre focused on developing indigenous artificial intelligence and cybersecurity solutions for India’s insurance sector. The initiative aims to create homegrown cyber defence technologies, reducing dependence on imported security systems while enhancing data protection. The hub will also conduct research in AI, cybersecurity, quantum technologies, and digital insurance systems. In addition to innovation, the collaboration will promote executive education, talent development, industry-academia research, and startup incubation. The initiative supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision by building skilled professionals and advancing India’s capabilities in safeguarding the rapidly growing digital insurance ecosystem.
