Yadgir Launches Mission to Re-Enrol Out-of-School Children

The Yadgir district administration has launched a special campaign to bring 1,747 out-of-school children back into education. As part of the initiative, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Regional Centre and Samagra Shikshana Karnataka (SSK) will implement the NIOS Mitra programme from July. The programme identifies, counsells and enrols children aged 14–18 who have dropped out due to poverty, migration, family responsibilities or other social challenges. Trained facilitators, teachers and community volunteers will support students and their families through counselling, enrolment drives and continuous academic guidance. Special bridge courses will help children rejoin classrooms smoothly. The initiative aims to improve literacy, reduce dropout rates and promote inclusive, equitable education by ensuring every eligible child receives quality learning opportunities.
