Fake Certificates, Real Consequences: Racket Busted

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has busted a big fake marks card racket in Bengaluru and booked the founder of a Koramangala-based education company and his associates. Investigators suspect the network was engaged in the production and supply of fake academic certificates, marks cards and educational documents to students and job seekers for a fee. The raids saw police seize computers, printers, digital storage devices and many counterfeit certificates believed to have been prepared with sophisticated software. Authorities are now investigating how far the fraud went and are trying to identify people who may have used the bogus credentials to apply for jobs or further education. The case has raised fresh concerns about document verification and the increasing misuse of fake academic qualifications.
